Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)
OPEC is a confederation of 13 countries that export net oil and hold two-thirds of the known world oil reserves. The congress, which started in Baghdad on September 10, 1960, with the proposal of Venezuela, with the aim of stopping the decline in crude oil prices, was attended by Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. At the end of the congress, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, known as “OPEC”, which is formed from the initials of the English phrase “Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries”, was established on September 14, 1960.
The INANJMUN’24 OPEC committee will take up the following agenda item;
To ensure the protection of oil reserves in war zones during the war and to prevent economic difficulties that will be experienced in this regard
